Desert Provisions, was founded by Amanda Horton’s love for good food that’s all-natural, locally sourced, tastes great, and is well-packaged and designed. After relocating to Tucson, Arizona, she quickly fell in love with the magical allure of the desert southwest. Following months of drying/milling chiles as thoughtfully packaged gifts for friends and family, she decided to explore how to take her passion to the masses. She wanted to be able to share the special and unique elements of the desert with the rest of the world. Their salt is harvested naturally from the Sea of Cortez at the base of the Sonoran Desert and dried in the sun while their chile is from the small chile-growing region in Hatch, New Mexico on the banks of the Rio Grande River.
